A senior media official from Yemen’s Ansarullah movement has held Saudi Arabia's state-owned petroleum and natural gas company, Aramco, chiefly responsible for the ongoing atrocities against the Arab Peninsula nation.
Nasruddin Amer, deputy head of Ansarullah’s media office, described the Dhahran-headquartered energy firm as the primary financier of the relentless Saudi strikes across Yemen.
He warned that the continuation of the onslaught and siege against Yemen will inevitably subject its facilities and economic interests to devastating retaliatory operations, which will undermine Saudi economic projects – foremost among them Vision 2030.
Amer added that mass participation of Yemeni tribal fighters in battles against Saudi-backed forces carries the important message that the House of Saud bears full responsibility for the massacre of the Yemeni people, ongoing atrocities and daily crimes against them.
He noted that the aggression also pushes Yemeni families to send their loved ones to the frontlines to confront forces backed by foreign powers.
The senior Ansarullah media official said Saudi Aramco stands at the forefront of the parties funding the war on Yemen, emphasizing that its revenues are used to finance crises across West Asia.
He noted that the crimes being perpetrated in the Arab and Islamic worlds are associated with the interests and financial resources of the entities funding them.
Amer praised the retaliatory operations carried out by the Yemeni Armed Forces against Aramco installations, stating that continuation of Saudi aggression and Riyadh’s mobilization of soldiers, officers, and armament require the Yemeni army to respond harshly to the origins of the offensives and target their financiers.
He called on Saudi Aramco shareholders to take the Yemeni army seriously, stressing that extension of the Saudi aggression and siege would expose their investments to severe losses.
On July 20, the Sana’a government announced a maritime blockade against Saudi Arabia in response to "an unjust and oppressive siege" on Yemen for almost 12 years.
Subsequently, the Yemeni armed forces have reported a series of successful missions that have targeted vessels associated with Saudi Arabia in the Red Sea. The Yemeni forces have also carried out retaliatory attacks on targets deep inside the kingdom.
In March 2015, Saudi Arabia and its allies imposed a blockade on Yemen, initiating a comprehensive military offensive that received support in terms of military, political, and logistical assistance from the United States and several Western countries.
Hundreds of thousands of Yemenis have been killed; however, Saudi Arabia has failed to achieve its primary goal of reestablishing a puppet government in Yemen that serves its interests.
