Israeli occupation forces have resumed extensive military assaults and systematic residential demolitions across the occupied West Bank, intensifying a campaign of military aggression and settler violence that has escalated since Israel launched its genocidal war on Gaza in October 2023.

The official Palestinian news agency WAFA, citing local sources, reported that Israeli troops deployed heavy machinery and explosives in the northern West Bank town of Beita, located 13 kilometers (8.1 miles) southeast of Nablus, on Wednesday, to demolish Palestinian residential buildings. Numerous families were displaced as a result.

Forced demolitions were also carried out in occupied East al-Quds, where municipal authorities compelled a Palestinian resident in Silwan to dismantle his own home under the threat of substantial financial penalties.

Israeli forces also raided al-Sawahira al-Sharqiyah and al-Mughayyir, ransacking Palestinian homes and subjecting residents to collective punishment.

Mass abductions accompanied the residential demolitions across the northern flanks of the West Bank.

Occupation soldiers kidnapped Palestinians during systematic raids in Tubas and Burqa, northwest of Nablus, adding up to the substantial population of Palestinians held under the so-called administrative detention measures.

The developments came a day after the UN Independent International Commission of Inquiry on the Occupied Palestinian Territory, including East al-Quds, said Israeli forces had killed 1,080 Palestinians in the West Bank between the beginning of Israel’s genocidal war on the Gaza Strip on October 7, 2023, and September 30, 2026.

The fatalities included at least 784 men, 237 boys, 22 women and seven girls. Israeli forces have also injured at least 10,009 Palestinians across the occupied West Bank, including East al-Quds.

The commission called on the international community to implement more robust measures in response to Israel's occupation and settlement activities, and urged all states to refrain from recognizing the occupation or settlements as legitimate, as well as to withhold political, military, or economic support that would facilitate their continuation.
