Italy's Salvini calls for early elections as crisis talk continue

Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini calls for early elections, two days after the disintegration of a dysfunctional coalition government.

League leader and Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini on Thursday called for early elections, saying that "sovereignty belongs to the people", two days after the disintegration of a dysfunctional coalition government.

Crisis talks led by Italian President Sergio Mattarella are trying to determine if a viable coalition could be formed following the break up of the alliance between Five Star (M5S) and the far-right League.
