One more British ISIL terrorist in Syria has been added to a UN sanctions list, bringing to five the total number of British citizens on the list.

New on the UN list is a Cardiff-born teenager Aseel Muthana who is believed to be in the ISIL-held Syrian city of Raqqah on the banks of the Euphrates River. 19-year-old Muthana reportedly traveled to Syria in 2014. He is described as a “foreign terrorist” wanted by the authorities in the UK.

Muthana’s elder brother Nasser is already on the list. He was included following his appearance in a propaganda video in which supported the terrorism as ISIL means to reach their goals.  The farther of the two says he fears both Aseel and Nasser could be on a British government “hit list”.

The UN sanctions tantamount to travel ban and asset freeze were imposed on four Britons including 21-year-old Nasser following a request from London in 2006. Aqsa Mahmood from Glasgow, Omar Hussain from High Wycombe both in their 20s and Sally-Anne Jones, a 46-year-old Muslim convert from Kent are three others on the list.

There is a sharp rise in number of people, including many young Britons suspected of travelling to Syria to join the Daesh terrorist group. The number of terrorism-related arrests in Britain has also surged in recent months. Scotland Yard said recently it believed that more than 40 women and girls traveled to Syria in the past year.

More than 700 hundred Britons are said have been fighting along with terrorists in Daesh-controlled parts of Syria and at least 100 among them are thought to be women and girls, some travelling with friends and others with children.
